NOTE:  Son of Joshua Nichols and Hannah Coggeshall. His Coggeshall ancestors as well as his wife's Pomeroy ancestors both reach back to medieval times. His Nichols ancestors include John Alden, youngest signer of the Mayflower Compact. He and Fanny are parents of five daughters and two sons including Frances Mayo Pomeroy Nichols who married James William Sinnock.
