NOTE: Harriett is one of the original Sinnocks to come to America. She was born in Sedlescombe, East Sussex and migrated to America in 1853 with her husband James Inman; her two young girls, Mary Ann (3 yrs) and Harriett Frances (18 months); her parents Sam and Mary Lindfield Sinnock; older sister Mary Ann and younger brothers JW and Thomas; all traveling four weeks by sailing ship "Margaret Evans" from London to New York then overland two more weeks to Payson, IL, where the family settled near her brother George who arrived in 1837 as an 18 year old, just one year after his younger brother, Sam, Jr., the first Sinnock to come to America as an adventurous 15 year old all alone in 1836 who eventually settled across the river near Newark, MO. |
