NOTE: English immigrant born in Brede, East Sussex; migrated in 1853 to Payson, Illinois with his wife Harriett and their two young daughters, toddler Mary Ann (3 yrs) and infant Harriett Frances (18 months). Harriett, the infant, died about two weeks after their arrival in America; the arduous six week trip from England to Payson must have been too strenuous for her.
"James Inman and Harriett Sinnock Inman came to America in the spring of 1853 with Harriett's father and mother, Samuel and Mary Sinnock, and some of their other children. James and Harriett resided in Payson, Illinois. Upon arrival from England, he worked at his trade as wagonmaker. After a few years, he took up commercial farming, and lived on his farm near Payson." quote from Thomas Sinnock, Harriett's brother, about 1910. |
